Kun’tewiktuk: A Mi’kmaw Adventure is fantasy game based on the stories and legends of the Mi’kmaw people. It’s set in Unama’ki which is also known as Cape Breton Island in Canada. In the game follows the journey of two young siblings, Wasuek and U’n. One day, they get separated and each of them must travel through the spirit world to find each other and come back home. You’ll also have a menu where you can choose different weapons and abilities as you play. So as the game moves forward, the siblings gain special powers that come from nature. Many powers are unlocked as they complete different tasks and quests.

Kun’tewiktuk is a Mi’kmaw word that means “the place of the rock”. The Mi’kmaq people are the original inhabitants of the Atlantic Provinces in Canada and they’ve lived there for over 10,000 years. The game alternates between controlling Wasuek and U’n as they try to reunite. At the start, Wasuek is trying to find U’n, who is trapped by a dangerous creature. Both siblings are trying to make their way back to each other and home.

Wasuek, whose name means “flower” in Mi’kmaw, is brave, smart, and determined. She is protective of her family and especially cares about her brother. Once she decides on something, she won’t back down. U’n, meaning “fog” in Mi’kmaw, is just as brave and adventurous as his sister, but sometimes he acts without thinking. He’s energetic, strong, and always up for a challenge.

Throughout the game, you’ll meet various characters from Mi’kmaw legends, including the Great Chief Kluskap, who might help guide you if you prove yourself worthy.

The game also has mini-games that test your skills with puzzles, memory, and dexterity. You’ll face enemies inspired by Mi’kmaw myths, such as ogres, ice creatures, giant spirit animals, and more.
