In this game Manor Lords is strategy game where you take on the role of a medieval lord. Start with a small village and grow it into a big city. In the game focuses on historical accuracy, inspired by the art or architecture of 14th century Franconia. It avoids common medieval myths or instead makes a believable and colorful world that feels real.
You’ll get to build your city without a fixed grid, giving you full freedom to place and rotate buildings however you like. Settlements grow naturally, influenced by trade routes and the land around them. Farms are placed based on soil quality, hunting grounds depend on animal locations, and you’ll need to use forests and deposits wisely to gather materials. Residents build homes according to history, and bigger houses can have gardens, chicken coops, or goat pens to produce extra resources. Seasons play a big role so you’ll need to prepare for harsh winters and enjoy the bounty of spring.
In this game has a variety of goods from the medieval era like barley honey and hides. Many resources are processed into finished products through production chains. You’ll need to balance meeting your people’s needs while producing luxury goods for trade or crafting weapons for battle. So your settlements means exploring new areas to find resources like fertile soil or valuable iron. But careless growth can harm the environment, so you’ll need to rotate crops and manage forests wisely. Moreover trade with merchants to earn wealth, improve homes, and grow your city.
Your land is small, and rival lords are a constant threat. Train soldiers and militia to defend or expand your territory. Each soldier matters – losing one affects your city. Battles are tactical and depend on smart planning, weather, and equipment. Victory comes at a cost, even when you win.
