Mercenaries Lament is tactical RPG set in a fantasy world where you lead a group of mercenaries through intense strategy based battles. The game uses quarter-view maps with different heights, so how you position your characters—whether they’re in front, behind, or on the side of enemies—can seriously impact the outcome of each fight. As well as the game is all about smart positioning using support effects from your allies and create strategic decisions during battle. So you will also have plenty of freedom to develop your characters like upgrading their talent and changing their classes by earning skill points in battle. The characters are beautifully drawn with great expressions by the artist Sakura Mochi.
When Amalie, one of your party members, is in the group, you can fill up a special gauge on the screen to gain BP (Battle Points). You can store up to 9 BP, and once it’s full, you can activate “Advent Soul” mode for a character. This makes the character stronger for a while, allowing them to use powerful “Advent Attacks” with other party members and special “Soul Exceed” moves.
A character in “Advent Soul” mode triggers Advent Attacks when positioned to trap an enemy with another ally. This triggers a coordinated attack which is a unique move for per character that can deal heavy damage.

Soul Exceed skills are special moves that characters in Advent Soul can use at any time. These skills vary from massive damage to healing your team or curing any negative effects. Once you use a Soul Exceed skill, the Advent mode ends, but using these moves is key to winning tough battles.
Throughout the game, you’ll find mysterious “Orbs” that the story scatters around in specific places or that enemies drop. There are 13 Orbs in total, and when you collect them all, something big might happen. So you can check your collection and equip Orbs as accessories to enhance your characters.
In the story takes place years after a deadly disease spreads across the continent. Infected people turn into zombies after they die, and it’s up to mercenaries to clear them out. Johann, the leader of the Silver Wolf Mercenary Company, is one of these mercenaries.
