Each player is assigned a character card with a secret role: Innocents or the Thief. The majority of players are Innocents, while one or more are secretly designated as the Thief. The Thief’s objective is to steal valuable items from different locations on the pier and avoid getting caught, while the Innocents must work together to identify and apprehend the Thief.
The game is divided into rounds, with each round representing a day at the carnival. Players interact with each other through conversations and activities on the pier. Innocents attempt to gather information and clues to determine who the Thief might be, while the Thief must be cautious not to arouse suspicion.
At the end of each round, players participate in a voting phase where they accuse someone they believe is the Thief. The player with the most accusations faces a trial. During the trial phase, players present their arguments and evidence, trying to convince others of their innocence or guilt.
The game continues with alternating rounds of investigation, accusation, and trial until the Thief is caught (Innocents win) or manages to steal a certain number of valuable items without being identified (Thief wins).
